Every Third Tuesday, 2:00 pm

Join us for a free film showing every month, sponsored by the Friends Guild of the Destin Library. Films range from Golden Age classics to modern hits.  

The schedule for winter and spring 2019 is as follows:

May 21 - Singing In the Rain
June 18 - The Old Man & The Gun

*These films are subject to the DVD release date, and a substitute film may be shown.

**The showing dates for these two films have been swapped to accommodate a delayed release date.

Civil Rights: How Far Have We Come?

With Pam Horowitz as moderator, Camille and Charles Morgan will discuss living in Birmingham when the 16th Street Baptist Church was bombed. In the wake of that tragedy their husband and father, Chuck, gave a speech that electrified the nation and changed their lives forever. Pam, who practiced law with Chuck in Washington DC and was married to civil rights icon Julian bond, will discuss her early legal career with the Southern Poverty Law center and her current service on its Board.

The Kilted Man: Traditional Celtic Music

Matthew Gurnsey delights audiences with his rousing performances of Celtic music. With with and finesse, Gurnsey charms with his beautiful melodies and tales of wayward voyages and unrequited love. His unique talents with traditional Celtic instruments such as the conertina, bodhran, bones, and mandolin add an air of authenticity to each piece. Go back to a time when the news was delivered not on your cell phone, but via troubadours and bards telling tales.
