Overview of Destin’s Streets

- 90 miles of sidewalks
- U.S. Highway 98 East, Destin’s main thoroughfare, is 7.2 miles long and carries three names: Harbor Boulevard, U.S. Highway 98 East and the Emerald Coast Parkway.
Private Streets, Lane Closures & Medians The City of Destin is prohibited from maintaining private roadway within the incorporated limits of the City of Destin. Private streets and roads are the responsibility of the local homeowners association. View a map of Destin streets. Private streets are indicated by (p). Lane closures will be posted on Destin News Flash.
The city’s road crew and contractors maintain the growth of the vegetation in the rights of way. It is against City Code to put signage in the public rights of way. Report signs that may cause visibility problems for traffic and do not adhere to the city’s beautification code.

The Speed Hump program provides homeowners a process to request asphalt speed humps on city maintained residential streets. For more information see the Speed Hump Request Package
- Streetlight Outage
Report the outage online to Gulf Power or call Public Services at (850) 837-6869. Gulf Power will identify the streetlight by the nearest address and/or pole number.
